Thanks to all for your ongoing support to our food pantry (for your donations of food). As many of you are aware we are not opening the pantry on a specific day anymore. We still have people stopping in for food requests though. We are trying to encourage people to use the community food bank that the Salvation Army operates. They are planning on revamping their program to offer a wider variety of services to help people up as well as out, including pastoral care. We are partnering with them as the other churches in our community do.
We still need some food here for emergency use and for people who fall through the cracks of the system. We have an empty food pantry at the moment. If you are able to supply some goods we would greatly appreciate it. We hope to have bags available in the office for families as well as bag lunches for hungry people on the street.
List of items that would be of great help are: canned pasta, canned stews, canned meat, fish, pudding/jello, canned fruit, juice, cereal hot/cold, coffee/tea, crackers, cookies, mayonnaise, powdered milk, beans, dry pasta/sauce, ketchup/mustard, granola bars/fruit snacks.
