Hymn:  VU# 307 “Touch the Earth Lightly”

Call to Worship:

L.  Do you know that God sees holiness in you and knows you as beloved?

P. We will bear with one another; forgive whatever grievances we have against one another, forgive in the same why that God has forgiven us all.

L.  Let love be your garment; it binds all the other qualities together and makes them perfect.

All.  Amen.

Prayer of Approach:

Today we read about Jesus feeding the multitude.  He gave them what they needed.  Our dear Lord, we should be more like that multitude, bravely asking you for what we need. Instead we stubbornly walk alone in this world; we sustain ourselves with our own recipe of morals and righteousness.  Dear God, grant us wisdom and humility that we may allow ourselves to be fed with your loving presence. Then may we offer nourishment to others by sharing your love. Amen
