4. A note from the Sunday School Teachers
During their Sunday school classes on Nov. 14th (and possibly Nov. 28th) the Sunday school children will be making Christmas crafts. They will be able to make one to sell and one to take home if they wish. We will have three craft stations set up on the Kindergarten - Grade 3 Sunday school level. These crafts will be sold on Dec. 5 and 12th after church with the proceeds going to Marta our sponsored child from Guatemala.

5. We will be decorating for Christmas on the 24th of November at 9:00 a.m., If anyone would care to buy an angel for the Christmas Tree in the Narthex, please feel free to do so and put it on the tree. Anyone wishing to help decorate, we would love to see you there.

Thanks to our very generous church family, the donations to our Food Pantry have been terrific. This week the items most needed are Cold Cereal, Hot Cereal, Tinned Fruit & Skim milk powder.

7. Poinsettia Project
The Friendship and Visitation Committee are pleased to again carry out the Christmas Poinsettia project. The church will be alive with poinsettias on December 12, and on Monday, December 13, volunteers will deliver the beautiful plants to newly bereaved and shut-ins. These plants bring Christmas cheer to many recipients. Anyone wishing to make a cash donation toward this project may do so at the office. Thank you for your support.

8. Thank you!
A big thank you to Lawrence and Betty Ann Davidson for donating the shuffleboard for the youth, it is currently downstairs in the "youth" room. Also many thanks to our youth leaders, Jim Nichols for the donation of his table tennis and Joyce Dickson for the big TV to add to the collection of toys for our church young people (and young at heart). All these items are very much appreciated by the youth and the youth leaders of Grace United Church.

9. If you have a family member or know of someone who is ill in hospital or at home, please call the office and let us know. We do not have access to this information unless you tell us. (We have no access to the forms you fill out at the hospital.)

10. Announcements need to be in by noon on Thursday if you would like them in the bulletin for Sunday.

At the time our congregation made the decision to work with St. Paul Presbytery to seek an Interim Minister for Grace United, we were optimistic that a suitable minister could be appointed in a timely manner.
However, after several months of diligent effort and numerous phone calls by the Transition Support Team, that Team has concluded that the ministry requirements of Grace United may not be met via the Interim Ministry process.
The Transition team and Central Board chair Morris Smith participated in an informal meeting with Rev. Paul DuVal in which they shared with Rev. DuVal our disappointment that the process has not been fruitful to this point. We then spent considerable time discussing what other avenues might be explored.
The Transition Support Team has made a request to St. Paul Presbytery this week to support our congregation's wish to engage in a more flexible search for a minister. While not precluding the possibility that a two-year Interim Minister may still be "found", we feel we need the flexibility to consider all other options including but not necessarily restricted to an Interim Minister for a term of less than two years; a temporary appointment; or the "call" of full time minister.
Members of the transition Team are Darrel Howell(chair), Shirley Aston, Brenda Ellison, Bill Luchynski, Marilyn Young, Greg Weaver and Presbytery reps - Judy Frey and Lois Greenlay Burwash.

12. Some members of our congregation are allergic to scented products so please consider this when dressing for church.
