Free Lecture: The Future of the United Church of Canada

Presentor: 40th Moderator of The United Church of Canada - Mardi Tindal

As part of our grand Opening Celebrations, Grace United Church presents Mardi Tindal former national leader of the United Church to lead an open forum on the place and future of mainline Christian community in the next few decades.

Wednesday April 27th7:30 p.m. in our

Grace United Church Sanctuary.

As many Lloydminster residents have ties to the United Church, this is another opportunity to see and experience our new facility. There is no charge, and the public is welcome!

United Church of Canada national representative at grand opening celebrations for the Grace United Church hall and office renovation this week.

Tindal served as the 40th Moderator of The United Church of Canada, from 2009-2012,  the fourth lay Mardi Tindal,  writer, broadcaster, educator, and past moderator will be the Moderator in the history of the church. Her background is in adult education, writing, broadcasting, organizational consulting with a broad cross-section of society, and experience in varied national and regional church leadership positions. Prior to her election as Moderator, and following a decade of hosting Spirit Connection, the United Church's weekly television program on Vision TV, she coordinated adult programs and served as the Executive Director of Five Oaks Centre, an education and retreat centre of the church. She is currently a columnist with the United Church Observer, a facilitator with the Center for Courage & Renewal, and a frequent speaker. The Observer describes her as "a great communicator who excels in finding meaning and hope, then sharing it with those she encounters." 

Tindal will participate in a public forum on "The Future of the United Church and ProgressiveReligion,  Wednesday April 27th at 7:30 at the Grace United Church. 

On Thursday, April 28 at 7:30 she will present "An Introduction to the Centre for Courage and Renewal", an organization dedicated to:

"supporting the spiritual formation of individuals - and the healing transformation of our community organizations."
