South Side
For hatred between peoples, for violence among nations,
for breakdowns in civility, we pray:
Why does it have to be this way God? What choices of ours could bring change?
(silence)
North Side
For estrangement within families, for tensions among neighbours, we pray:
Why does it have to be this way, O God? What choices of ours could bring change?

South Side
For divisions among Christians, for tension within our nation,
for conflict within our own community, we pray:
Why does it have to be this way, O God? What choices of ours could bring change?
(silence)
North Side
For our own inner struggles with inflated ego or deflated self-worth,
for the pressures that worries and fears bring to our lives, we pray:
Why does it have to be this way, O God? What choices of ours could bring change?
(Time for silent prayer and meditation)
WORDS OF GRACE AND COMFORT
Receive the promise of God: through all these times, amidst all these conditions,
God offers the Spirit’s transforming power as our companion, compassion and hope. Thanks be to God.
THE SCRIPTURE SPEAKS TO US
SCRIPTURE READING
Old Testament – Haggai 1:15b -2:9 – God will shake things up; there will be new splendor.
In this is God’s Holy Word. Thanks be to God.
Responsive Psalm 98 – The great dance of Creation- Everyday Psalms – James Taylor
How different God’s creation is from human conflict.
The clamour of human strife creates a cacophony.
Like orchestras competing with their conductor, nations murder each other’s melodies.
But God has other music.
The colours of nature never clash with each other.
In a garden, every shade of leaf and flower joins in a joyous chorus;
bare branch and bonsai provide a counterpoint balancing the beauty of blossoms.
In the depths of the jungle,
the sounds of termite and tiger weave a wondrous harmony;
eerie descants echo through the ocean’s deeps;
the rhythm of life throbs in every cell,
and the seasons swell and ebb away.
From the farthest nebula to the tiniest atom,
all creation dances to honour its choreographer.
And God applauds each performance.

CITY OF LLOYDMINSTER |OCT & NOV
Since October 26, 2022, the City of Lloydminster – Engineering Services Team, and its selected Consultant, WATT Consulting Group, have invited the public to provide input on public transportation needs and priorities through an online survey. The feedback gathered will be used to help develop the City of Lloydminster’s Public Transportation Master Plan.
The City of Lloydminster is undertaking this comprehensive public transportation needs assessment and feasibility study to better understand how transit could most effectively serve local travel needs. The study will include identifying the type of service that could be offered and its frequency, the operating model, and the economic impacts.
SURVEYS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE NARTHEX OR here is the link to complete online.
As beloved children of God, all are included in the life and ministry of the Grace Family
where diversity is celebrated.
Grace remembers, as we celebrate God’s presence in worship,
that Grace United Church gathers on Treaty 6 land,
the traditional territory of the Plains, Wood Cree, Assiniboine and Métis peoples.
As Treaty people,
we seek to live with respect on this land and live in peace and friendship with all our relations.
